Hey! I’m Alyssa — mom, creative, social media girlie, Disney adult, self-acclaimed princess… and mom to a real little princess.

I’m the kind of girl who:

  • Builds brands for a living

  • Lives for a good content strategy

  • Has a soft spot for a perfectly timed Disney snack

  • And somehow keeps ending up at Disney World with a toddler in tow

And yes.. I will have brought my daughter to Disney three times before she turned three. (And yes… she is named after a Disney princess 👑✨)

Because of that and my visible love for Disney I constantly get asked for my Disney tips and tricks!

So here it is: my real, tried-and-true Disney World tips especially for moms with little ones.

✨ DISNEY WORLD TIPS, TRICKS & MUST-DOS

TIMING IS EVERYTHING

This alone can make or break your trip.

  • Arrive early (30–60 minutes before park opening). Rope drop saves HOURS.

  • Do big rides first, characters mid-morning, slower attractions in the afternoon.

  • Midday breaks are not quitting — they’re how you survive multiple park days.

  • Fireworks = longest lines elsewhere. Ride during fireworks if you can.

RIDES (SMART STRATEGY)

Disney is not about doing everything. It’s about doing what matters most.

  • Don’t try to do it all. Pick must-dos and let the rest be bonus magic.

  • Use Rider Switch if you have kids who can’t ride — both adults still get to ride.

  • Save shows for afternoons (air conditioning + rest = lifesaver).

  • Never start with small rides that always have short lines later.

  • Know which rides your child can and cannot ride BEFORE you go - it sets expectations and avoids disappointment at the entrance.

CHARACTERS & AUTOGRAPHS

This is where the real magic happens for little ones.

  • One or two big character moments per park is perfect.

  • Decide ahead of time which characters are non-negotiable, one-on-one meets.

  • Character meals = fewer lines + better interactions.

  • Bring an autograph book + thick marker.

  • Photos first, autograph last — it keeps kids calm.

  • Let the moment happen. Cast Members will not rush kids.

  • Character locations and times are all in the My Disney Experience app.

  • Smart trick: If lines are long, meet characters while one adult is in a Rider Switch line (example: Olaf near the Star Wars rides — clutch timing).

FOOD & DINING

Hungry kids (or moms) = meltdowns. Plan accordingly.

  • Mobile order food early (before you’re hungry).

  • Character dining can replace multiple meet-and-greet lines.

  • You don’t need table service every day.

  • It’s okay to cancel reservations if you’re tired — flexibility is key at Disney.

APPS & TECH

Your phone is your best Disney tool.

  • Download My Disney Experience before you go.

  • Screenshot dining reservations and tickets.

  • Battery pack is non-negotiable.

  • Check wait times after fireworks — they drop fast.

  • Use line time to plan your next move.

PACKING LIST: DISNEY MUST-HAVES

(These save money, time, and meltdowns — trust me.)

For Everyone

  • Comfortable, broken-in shoes

  • Lightweight layers (Florida weather changes fast)

  • Ponchos or rain jackets

  • Refillable water bottles

  • Sunscreen + lip balm

  • Sunglasses / hats

  • Small backpack or park bag

  • If your anything like me: Matching corrdinated outfits based on each park

For Kids

  • Snacks (pouches, bars, crackers)

  • Change of clothes

  • Autograph book + thick marker

  • Bubble wand or small toy

  • Portable fan (huge win in lines)

With Toddlers / Young Kids

  • Portable potty or foldable potty seat

  • Wipes + hand sanitizer

  • Extra underwear + plastic bag

  • Stroller (with rain cover)

Tech & Extras

  • Battery packs

  • Phone cords

  • Headphones (if fireworks are too loud)

WITH LITTLE KIDS

A few non-negotiables:

  • Bathroom before every long line.

  • Portable potty = stroller MVP.

  • Strollers are helpful — not lazy.

MINDSET (THIS IS THE SECRET)

This is the part people don’t talk about enough.

  • You don’t need to do everything for it to be magical.

  • If a moment feels special: stop the plan and live it.

  • Leaving early one night often makes the next day better.

  • Disney is expensive… pace yourself so you actually enjoy it.

REAL TRUTH

A “perfect” Disney trip is not ride-count heavy.

It’s the one where:

  • Kids feel seen

  • Adults aren’t exhausted

  • Everyone leaves happy

I hope this helps you enjoy Disney with your little one as much as we’ve loved experiencing it with ours 🤍

And on another note (since this is my business website ) if you know anyone looking for social media consulting, content strategy, or brand support, send them my way.

Bonus points if they want to talk Disney.

If not… it’s fine. I’ll deal. 🤪

(But just know I’m probably wearing a crown when I get home 👑✨)
